First, a word of warning. Shadow details, like the texture of that wall, are made interesting by light falling at an angle across the surface of the stone which picks out all the nice ridges. But if the stone is not receiving any direct light, raising the lightness of the shadow areas isn’t going to magically create the kind of interesting stone texture that you would get if the stone was in good light. So try not to be too surprised or disappointed if the shadow areas you rescue look a bit flat and lifeless. Rescuing shadows can improve look of a picture, but will not change the laws of physics.
